Domaine Blanc Plume
Return to the fundamentals of biodynamic agriculture…
Domaine Blanc Plume was born from the idea of nature’s resilience and the need to return to the fundamentals of biodynamic agriculture. After several years of apprenticeship in organic and dynamic organic viticulture in different estates in Provence (Aix en Provence and Baux de Provence in particular), Raphael Colin settled in the Pyrenees Orientales, in the foothills of the Agly Valley at an altitude of 350 m on the terroir of Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes.
The classification, grape varieties and terrain
The vineyard is spread over 5 small plots, allowing us to play with different micro-climates and soils (from very chalky for our Chardonnay to very schistose for the Syrah and the old Carignan).
We wished to pay homage to 3 birds by associating them to our first vintages. Beyond the drawings, which we find sublime, it seemed obvious to us that a strong link had been established between the descriptions of the birds and the wines.
Our vineyards are also bordered by a long-distance footpath, the GR36, which continues along a river called Sant Jaume (Saint James in Catalan). It is a multi-sensory space conducive to meditation and rejuvenation. We wanted the wines to reflect this image: lively, fruity, fluid and soothing, to be enjoyed with full awareness.
